Refugee Welcome Party / Family Day

As a part of the Northern Ireland Human Rights Festival, the Belonging Project is happy to exhibit our portraits at Black Box in Belfast on Saturday, December 12.

People who have had to leave most of their belongings but more importantly their whole community, their friends, culture and history behind.  We are taking part in the Human Rights Festival to share the stories of migrants in Northern Ireland in order to create a sense of belonging.

Small Worlds Diversity at Belfast City Hall

The Belonging Project will have a pop-up exhibition in the Banqueting Hall at Belfast City Hall on November 24.  Our work will be featured as a part of the Belfast City Council's DiverseCity kickoff event Small Worlds Diversity.

Derry Central Library Exhibition

We're happy to hold an exhibition at the Derry Central Library from 2-21 November. Come see our portraits and interviews displaying the lives and stories of migrants throughout Northern Ireland. Crafted by expert photographer Laurence Gibson, the exhibition is aimed at tackling racism and ending prejudice.

Library hours are:

Monday: 8:30am - 8:00pm

Tuesday: 8:30am - 5:30pm

Wednesday: 8:30am - 5:30pm

Thursday: 8:30am - 5:30pm

Friday: 8:30am - 5:30pm

Saturday: 9:30am - 4:30:pm

Sunday: Closed

LAUNCH EVENT:

In addition to our exhibition we will be holding an event at the Derry Central Library on Thursday, 19 November from 18.30-20.00. Tea, coffee, and snacks will be available! Come by and learn about the Belonging Project and what we do.

Colin Glen Workshop & Exhibition

Join us for an exhibition and workshop offering discussion about diversity and identity in Northern Ireland providing participants with the opportunity to explore how they can interact with people from a diverse background.  We will be exhibiting a selection of our Belonging portraits at the library along with the workshop.

This event is part of a programme of events to celebrate Community Relations and Cultural Awareness Week 2015.  RSVP to admin@migrantcentreni.org.
